What I Did On My Summer Vacation…

31 August 2007 No Comment

My family and I took our vacation this year to Washington, D.C. the first week of August.  I had never been and my wife has family in the area, so we took the opportunity to catch up with them and do a little sightseeing.

It was dang hot, with temps hovering around 100°F or greater and heat indices approaching 110°F!  The museums on Monday were no problem with A/C, but Arlington National Cemetary on Tuesday and walking The Mall on Wednesday were pretty rough.  The Washington Monument was out of order when we got there, so we didn’t get to go up.  There were several other things that I really wanted to see, but we are planning on going back sometime in the future (although probably in the Fall or early Winter!).

I didn’t get as many images of the Changing of the Guard Ceremony at Arlington as I wanted.  I was planning on my wife getting it on video while I snapped shots, but I ended up having to do the video because of the crowd and the heat.

I finally got the pictures online and thought I would share.  I by no means claim to be a great photographer, but I think that there are several gems in there!

I hope you enjoy!
